The expansion of the subgrade on the Golmud-Mangya highway in northwest China's Qinghai Province was complete on May 3, laying a solid foundation for the upgrade of the highway.
About 343 kilometers of the highway was expanded.
With an average altitude of 2,850 meters, the road section is located in Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
The upgraded highway is expected to be put into operation by September 2022.
The Golmud-Mangya highway is an important part of the road network in west China.
