As central China's Henan Province was hit by heavy downpours and ensuing floods in recent days, a large relics site has remained intact after precautionary measures were taken to protect its precious cultural relics that date back 3,500 to 3,800 years.

Despite the recent rainfalls, both the Erlitou relic site and the Erlitou Relic Museum are open to the public as usual.

The Erlitou ruins were discovered in 1959 and have been identified by archaeologists as one of the capital cities during the Xia Dynasty. China's earliest palace complex, bronze ware workshop and road network were all found there.
