Lanping County in southwest China's Yunnan Province has become an example of e-commerce-assisted poverty alleviation in China. The e-commerce service covers 34 impoverished villages and has a coverage rate of 60 percent. The countywide e-commerce trading volume is 160 million yuan (23 million U.S. dollars).
